One thing before you start

Go to page nine first if you like. That is the page listing the twelve skills high school quietly assumes your child already has. Almost every parent finds two or three that land hard.

That is not a bad moment. That is the moment the guessing stops.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Which 2 or 3 skills need extra focus before high school?

The guide shows you the twelve. It cannot tell you which are already strengths in your child, and which two or three are worth your attention this term.

That is the part that decides how the year goes. The most common way a good year gets away from a family is working very hard on the wrong thing.

The High School Readiness Checker

Maps all twelve areas. About ten minutes on your phone. It shows you which areas are already strengths, pinpoints the ones that need a little more, then gives you one clear starting point for each. Run it again at the start of each term and watch what shifts.
